The YG1 86573TH solid carbide finishing end mill, featuring a 1/4″ diameter and 3/4″ length of cut with five flutes, is tailored for detailed finishing work in stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys. Its 45° helix angle enhances chip evacuation and surface finish quality, while reducing vibration during high-speed finishing. Designed with a single end and center cutting geometry, this tool allows for plunge cutting and slotting with excellent control. The Hardslick coating offers wear resistance and thermal stability optimized for stainless steel and HRSA materials. The lack of a corner radius provides sharp edge definition but requires careful handling to prevent chipping in interrupted cuts. Avoid applying this end mill on steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials, as the Hardslick coating is not ideal and will degrade quickly. This tool is best suited for finishing applications demanding high precision and surface quality in stainless steel and HRSA components.
