The YG1 85598TF 3/4″ Size, 1″ Length of Cut, 5 Flute, YG TiAlN Futura Solid Carbide Finishing End Mill is tailored for finishing operations in steel and similar materials, offering rigidity and precision with its 1.33x length-to-diameter ratio. This design reduces deflection during detailed machining. Its 45° helix angle and five-flute geometry combined with TiAlN Futura coating enhance chip evacuation and surface finish quality while maintaining wear resistance in low carbon and stainless steels. Recommended primarily for finishing low carbon steel 1018/A36, this tool benefits from higher flute counts and variable pitch for improved finish with light radial stock. The sharp cutting edges without a corner radius emphasize smooth, continuous cuts, and its center-cutting capability allows plunge cutting and slotting. This end mill should not be used on non-ferrous materials as the TiAlN Futura coating is not a good match and will deteriorate quickly. It is also less suitable for heavy roughing or machining hard materials where other geometries or coatings are preferred.
