The YG1 85588TH 7/16″ Diameter, 9/16″ Length of Cut, 5 Flute Hardslick Solid Carbide Finishing End Mill provides a robust and accurate tool for finishing stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys. Its stub length to diameter ratio near 1.29 ensures stability and control during finishing, while the 45° helix angle with a 5-flute design facilitates excellent chip evacuation and surface finish. Complemented by the Hardslick coating, this end mill minimizes built-up edge and enhances wear resistance under high-speed finishing conditions. However, it is not recommended for use on steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials as the coating would degrade quickly. The absence of a corner radius focuses cutting action on sharp edges, making it less suitable for roughing or interrupted cuts where chipping risk is higher. This tool is optimized for finishing applications demanding high surface quality and dimensional accuracy in stainless steel and HRSA materials.
